Okay, so it's like this, I have this thing about how far north do I have to move to get away from alligators... And you have catfish as big as my kayak.
I dunno.

For the record, gators are not native to higher than say central Georgia but they can survive being frozen solid. I know this for a fact cause we froze one an thawed it back out. I also know they can live fine in a pond around the southern border of Tennessee for over 20 years.. As far as I know it is still alive in that pond... Also, NYC responds to more gator calls every year than the whole state of Florida so there is that...

It was in the bathtub an we were gone over night let the wood heater burn out. When me an my brother got home we had to break the ice to get the gator out of the tub. We put it on the heater an built a fire. A hour later it started moving its toes....
