in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

Rebel, I never rode the commuter trains but, thanks for the reminder, puts a different perspective on the texting etc. stuff. I do remember my father read the newspaper even at the kitchen table and frequently knocked food and drinks over . Then he would cuss at us as it if was out fault. He'd say we had too much junk on the table. Yah junk like soup and food and milk.

I probably did the same thing back when I use to read the paper. Those things are huge an there was never enough room anywhere in this house to lay it out to read it.. Pain in the butt...

I still spend a lot of time on my PC. This forum, some political ones, youtube an some video games take up my day. I made a choice a few years ago though. When guests are in my home, even if they are not here to see me, I find a place to stop. The computer, the TV an my cell phone are off limits when company is in my home. I am quick to call others out for using their cell in social events too. I have even told girls I was out on a date with to turn their phones off. The problem is that people have to much going on an dont know how to prioritize...

I even turn the radio off. I do not expect my taste in music to be anyone elses.

It also keeps me from accidentally baltering in public. Only the dogs know how badly I dance.
and one of them runs around screaming, "Call 911!, call 911!" of course, it is telepathic and they lack thumbs, so it is all for naught.

Yes, music should be off. People seem to always have this false assumption that if they like a song everyone else will an everything will be better if it is playing. You see this a lot on youtube. You click on a video that is suppose to show you how to cook a new kind of cake or what ever an Ozzy is Osborn is playing threw the whole thing. Even if you like Ozzy, you didnt click that link to hear him. The person that posted the video is always clueless to when people give the video thumbs down an complain in the comments. They are sure the video is better with music an post 10 more with the same flaw....

Turning music off while in the car with your children is a great time to....listen....to them. Have a wonderful conversation with them. This is great with the teens. And that means, no ear plugs from what ever it is they own~!

It always agrivates me when a driver comes through the scale and the radio - in his truck - with the door closed - is so loud that it drowns out my radio which is sitting on the table right next to the window.
Or those folks who pull up the the gas pumps and leave their radio blaring while they fill up, go inside to get a snack, etc...

Common curtesy is no longer common....
The idea of others being bothered by our actions is just not in people's minds. Or they just don't care. Oh well I will keep trying to be self aware and courteous.

When the neighbor's son comes home we can feel the "boom, boom," vibrations in our house from the "stuff" he has pounding on his car stereo (if that's what they still call it.)
