A buddy of mine used to do this. He'd climb up there twice a year to change the aircraft warning lights and check the stonework.

Akk! Your fingers will pop off!
And it will be so cold you won't know until you take off your gloves!
Go inside. Get something warm to drink.
Take a chicken with you.
She'll be glad you did.

3 good eggs THANKX now I'm afraid to go out wearing gloves. I mean if I don't wear gloves, I won't be surprised if the digits fall off. I don't like surprises.

My son lived in this climate about 2/3 of his life - just because he is visiting I had to push the thermostat up. It's usually 60 F on the main level, it's now 63.5 and my son is wearing a LLBeans rugged ridge parka, hood on, neck warmer up. He is pretending to shiver. His hands are cold (he never thinks he needs gloves) so he put on oven mitts.

I wear ordinary clothes with, a neck gaiter and an ear warmer., house is very drafty. The basement is probably like Florida - sunny & bright * 30- 4 ft. 40 watt fluorescent plant lights. but NO alligators.I can take off the gaiter and the ear warmer. It gets tedious going up and down stairs and making changes like this - all day long.

our low last night was 7 F,(Outside) it will be below 0 by Monday.
