Pretty! It's a Victorian crowned pigeon. They are the size of a turkey.

Thanks for the info. It's an elegant, fine boned animal,\ bred for the desert, but a bit thin for my tastes. I have never seen a coat like that on a horse. Like glass. Stunning.

Lovely place! Such a big yard. Add a little picket fence around the front, and I envision a chicken recreation area! They will help mow and fertilize the lawn too!

They are doing that for me in the back yard.

WOW, you mean there really are pigeons the size of turkeys. I wouldn't want to sweep up after them. Are they vaguely in the pigeon family? Or truly, glamorous pigeons?

Yea, I think more distant branch of pigeon. They definitely have pigeon feet & beaks and eat pigeon-type seed. They spend a lot of time on the ground.
They have a clutch size of ONE egg. And their chicks look like black tarantulas at first but get really cute quickly with that crest. They are terrible parents in captivity.

I had a friend near LA that had a few. One, named Ernie, would bite your shoelaces if he didn't know you.

What am I looking at? Is that scaffolding? It looks worn away so is it permanent scaffolding? I guess the metal worker did not want the stone carver to have all the fun.

The metal are the burglar bars on the window. This shot is higher up on the same window. It has a very narrow balcony behind the burglar bars, deep enough for flower pots.
