in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

Two planets are supposed to be in alignment tonight in the western sky making what looks like the brightest star in the sky an is not round. This is the first time it has happened in just over 2000 years. It is referred to as the Star of Bethlehem as it would have been last seen around the time of Jesus' birth an is assumed to be what the "wise men" followed.

Anyone get any good pictures of the "star" tonight? I cant see any stars at all much less that one cause of the clouds.

Couldn't even see the stars because of the storms we had here!! I wanted to see it too & try to take a pic....they did say it might be visible for a few days...so keep looking to the sky!!! :)

They will have separated by tonight.
Venus will pass Jupiter in late June/early July, 2015. At that time – especially on the nights of June 30 and July 1 – you can witness the closest Venus-Jupiter conjunction until August 27, 2016.

found this on earthsky.org. I know it's not the closest like last nite, but it's still pretty close :)

Latest video.

This is the one I was having issues with. Its still shaking but not so much you notice. I didn't write a script for my voice overs this time so my accent probably stands out more. I think it is still understandable. I threw in a little hint on my future plans of making my truck a generator.

Very Well done, I had no trouble understanding you. I just don't have any vehicles, not even a red wagon or a bicycle. But, you make everything look so easy, I bet I could do it.
