Yep. So much for sleep though. I was asleep less than 2 hours when someone called wanting to come buy my boat... So I spent the time waiting on him to figure up my mileage.


MPGs for my road trip to Pennsylvanian an back.

The 1369 miles I checked the mileage on took 91.45 gallons of diesel making my combined mileage 14.96 MPG.

The truck alone averaged 18.95 MPG with a high of 19.17 MPG. Cruise was set at 68 MPH running 2200 RPMs most of the way an didn't have to downshift for any of the mountains.

On the way back hauling a 6,000 pound 5th wheel camper, it averaged 12.71 MPG with a high of 14.28 MPG in the 55MPH speed limits of the north an a low of 11.36 MPG in the mountains, some of which I could only pull at 40MPH.

Whole 1444 mile trip cost around $200. Not bad for a 21 year old 4x4 with 240K miles on it an its Detroit diesel everyone says is junk, while pulling a 6K pound, 28 year old camper..

1994 Chevy k2500, 6.5 turbo diesel, 4L80E an a 3.73 gear ratio.

I am liking my $2,000 truck...

And, as my DH would say, that's why! It's a Chevy! He is a Chevy man, and a Dodge man.

My brother drives an 06 dodge 2500 4x4 turbo diesel. That's a mean truck but its a $17,000 truck an he is a Kenworth mechanic so it should be. Started to barrow it for this trip but didn't.
