in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

now isn't the right time, but ...Maybe,

Did the teen move out? I know the empty nest syndrome all too well. Happened at the first of the yr. when our boy came back after being gone for 2 yrs. Then, he was gone again, moved up north, and is now interested in .. one .. girl. :D May be having a wedding soon. Can't believe we are still doing those! Can't believe I had him when I did! Sure glad I did though. Great young man.

Yes, that room will come in handy. Keep the dogs out? When our son comes home to his room, the little dog..Ziggy, the Shnoodle sleeps with him, but no big dogs in there.

3goodEggs, you may have said this in the past but what is your son majoring in?

Some of the Projects I've been working on.

COlorful hat for my neighbor.

But of course it's not all fun and games... Here are some Pix from my dendrology lab this morning.. We are learning to identify trees by twigs and buds now. 65+ Trees we have to remember for a test. fun fun.
Glossy Buckthorn

I really like how this shot of the cottonwood bud turned out.

American Witchhazel and its Fall flowers. :) (Unusual that it flowers in the fall like this, but cool all the same!)

Red Osier dogwood.

Alternate leaved dogwood.

Catalpa

Serviceberry.

I would cry. At least with taxonomy I got to go out side .
I like the hat, did you use a loom ? I made my son a hat with ear flaps. Double reversable. Deffinatelya firefly Janye type of hat.

Thank you. I just Crocheted it using a pattern i found. Lol. Physics sounds pretty hard, not sure if I could major in it.. Gotta be pretty smart for something like that. As for the weather I will agree. It was spitting snow already tonight. Lol.

Tommy, you mean there is more than one kind of buckthorn? Out here it is the worst invasive, tree/bush, whatever it wants to be. The tree guy said it's English Buckthorn, with murderous thorns. There is not enough "Roundup" in the world to take it out.
