I fractured the same wrist when in high school… doing something I’d been doing for several years - only this time, I mis-judged all 3 parts of the equation. As a result, not quite enough force was initially exerted. Cascade failure was slow, mildly embarrassing & eventually painful in the short term.

Bunny-hopping a BMX bike up, off the street, onto the sidewalk. My speed had slowed “just a skosh”, the height of the curb was MUCH taller because of a drainage port right next to the spot I lifted from, & the time I lifted was just a second “too soon.”

Rear wheel smacked the full face of the curb & likely a tad bit of the gutter horizontal surface. That caused the rear of the bike to pitch straight up and that forced the front wheel onto the sidewalk with a significant abruptness. Flung me over the handlebars… I’m launched elbows locked. Yet another major error I knew better than to do… at least I rolled onto my side a nanosecond after the spike of pain from the wrist!

How’s hers happen? Hopefully she only has a few weeks with the cast.

Gymnast. Par for the course. This one's a compression fracture from training.
