I believe this is what they call Tickseed Sunflower. There's a lot growing on the roadsides now and it adds a nice splash of color.

Looks like a very similar variety I'm growing in my flower pot container. The seeds came as Assorted Perennial.

Tickseed is also known by it's scientific name Coreopsis, in the aster/daisy family. There are many colors and they're easy to grow and in many perennial/wildflower mixes. In fact, in the flower pot near foreground the shorter, round, yellow flower with the burgundy ring around the center is "Plains Coreopsis" or "Golden Tickseed."
