Our old garden we had back in the late 70's early 80's. Two feet of solid black topsoil that would grow about anything except watermelons. Watermelons grown on it tasted like mud. We covered the middles with wheat straw once the plants got high enough. We grew just about anything we could and froze and canned a lot. Sold a lot too. This garden is about 1 acre in size. Most of the work done with an old Troybuilt Tiller.

I had a really nice tiller in TN, but we sold it when we had to move back to FL.
