in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

Just saw this today

Last night there was snow and a surprisingly strong wind. An old rowan tree was torn out in the goose territory.

The ducks' door was covered with snow, I was too lazy to dig it out, so I opened another one for them.

The wind cut off the top of one of the pines. I kept thinking whether to saw off the top, whether the tree would be too tall, whether it would shade my greenhouse, where I grow cucumbers in the summer. While I was thinking, the weather did everything itself. Frankly, I haven’t decided what to do with this piece yet - most likely, I’ll saw it off, clean the bark and leave it for some kind of pen, fence or shed.
At one time, my goats ate these branches, but then they got really tired of the needles and practically stopped eating them.

Free birch firewood. One of the birches has a thick branch broken off near the top. Usually this kind of firewood is used for barbecue here. All I need to do is cut it into pieces and put it in the woodpile to dry.

Last year I had some seedlings that didn't fit into the greenhouses. I couldn't think of anything better than to just plant a couple of plants in flower pots in the house on the windowsill.
The result I got was quite original - these peppers have been growing all winter and spring and are constantly bearing fruit. Although usually they are planted here in the spring in summer greenhouses, the harvest is collected in the fall and that's it, the plants are removed.
I have a feeling that these peppers will continue to grow for years.

My laziness is progressing - I used to plant peppers in greenhouses because I was too lazy to go to the store. Now, to get peppers for soup or main courses, I don't even have to leave the kitchen. :gig
