In your experience, how reliable is pubic bone sexing in young chicks?

I haven't ever tried this with (chicken) chicks before. I tested it on budgerigar chicks, and it was accurate, but I also knew how to sex the budgies in other ways as well.

Anyways, I was just curious. I think I will try it with my chicks and see how many I was right about (it will be a count of course, because I can't tell buff orpington's apart).

I would say it is 50 50 I think you will get it right about half the time.

I actually just tried it with my 3 day old chicks..... I can't even find their pubic bones!!!!! :O

Either they're way to fat or I am inept. Lol
