Excuse the question but I have to ask. If you only have 1 roo and he breeds all the hens, isn't there going to be issues when the off spring are introduced into his flock?

Might seem cruel to some, but at the end of each year,we choose a new roo for all the girls, out of a diffrent flock elseware,or buy chicks in the beginning of the year, raise the one we want to be the new roo,and the old roo gets vacation at freezer camp. This way we dont even come near to inbreeding.

Well some poeple on here will say its cruel,i ran into some.we here do that every year.If the new roo doesnt cut the mustard, then the old one stays til next year and we raise a new roo to replace him.

We always honor our animals we intend to eat.We thank them for their service and for them providing themselves to us.Then its the axe, pluck, guts come out, heat and eat.
