incomplete egg

    We got our 1st egg yesterday and there wasn't any shell. Is this normal for a 1st egg? We have 6 hens and couldn't tell who layed the egg.

    Duds happen on occasion. It's nothing to worry about. I've had them shell-less, membrane-less (laid just white and yolk), tiny eggs, and missshapen.

    Yes, our first was like this. Everything seems to have normalized.
