Inconsistent screen width when creating a reply---why?

I noticed recently a change in the layout of the make a post. I don't know if it's my PC or BYC, LOL THe size is sometimes fit to my old type schreen, and other times it's the width of the new monitors requiring scrolling right and left. ANd quotes that I have alread posted reappear in my next effor to respond to a post using quotes. I struggle with dial up any way, so the fewest glitches the better, so if any one has any ideas on solving this , would love to hear from you.

We haven't made any changes on our side. Which browser and version are you using? Anybody else noticing this?

Same width for me every time. Using Firefox at work and Seamonkey at home.

Maybe my Bing and Google chrome are fighting with each other.

I have always had an inconsistency, it's just getting worse and has changed so I can't figure out how to keep the whole work area limited to the width of my old TV style monitor.


Maybe time to debug.

I haven't had any problems with width when replying to threads, but have had some super wide reply boxes in PMs the last 2-3 days. I have no idea why.
Haven't looked into it, so it might be me. I am planning on shutting down the computer when I leave for work today. That usually helps me.
FYI- I am using Chrome lately

Hi Imp, congrats on your platinum membership!!

Maybe I need to shut down my PC instead of going to standby. It takes extremely long to reboot, so I let it run overnight on standby.

Yes, you're right , the super wide is occuring in my PM replies, and moving line to line is full of hiccups.

Also I can't get the multi quote to work recently. It is sporatic, the malfunction. DIdn't have a problem early in the change over like others experienced. THis is new, the last few weeks.

I love being able to connect with fellow chicken lovers, so I deal with it. Would like to not have to deal with it.

I rarely shut down the computer either, but if I start noticing odd things(usually scrolling acting jumpy), a shut down usually helps. I'm not computer literate enough to really be of much help.
Right now, replying to you is perfectly normal. And I used multi-quote yesterday without problem.

Multipe quote seems to be hit or miss, sometimes it works, and sometimes it keeps giving me a blank screen, and the last button clicked, the quote button, is not darkened. IKN. So I skip writing that note and move on. I keep it in perspective--it's not critical.
