increase hen broodyness?

is there any way to encourage hens to act broody? i have two that have before and i wonder what makes them want to be.

let some eggs accumilate in there nest box or where ever they lay there eggs, they will probably just naturally go with there instincts and go broody

Sorry, can't help ya, mine go broody at the drop of a hat. I guess it depends on the breed or hen. My girls are mixed and some are very broody and some just don't care.

Broodiness is purely and simply a hormonal thing. However, if a hen has gone broody before, she may very well do it again. Although some do not.

Ya just can't schedule it.

im not gonna try and force her. i just wanted to know how to make the circumstances right. i know its ultimately up to her

i wouldnt be mean and lock her in a cage full of eggs.
