so long story short...Maggie is a Favorelle (i believe as she has feathered legs and an extra toe) hen (unknown age) that was attacked and being chased by dogs through a friends yard. my friend scooped her up and she has had a loving home at my house for the past 8 months and has healed nicely from the wound. she has had really watery droppings off and on, two samples have been sent out to the lab and i have looked at two myself (i am a small animal vet tech). in the past 4 weeks maggie has been drinking a significant amount of water and the watery stool is back. she is soiling her feathers in the rear. i sent some blood to the lab, her calcium was high and the docs were concerned that her food was too salty. we got the ingredients list (sent to the dr) and i had the pleasure of tasting her pellets...definitely not salty!!! no diagnoses have been made and i am worried about my girl. she is holding her weight but is slim, her egg laying has been every other to every third day. if anyone has any ideas anything would be appreciated!!! thank you so much for helping!!!
