(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Four years ago, we started our flock with two Ameraucanas and two Australorps, and they were well and pretty good layers until very recently. We ordered 8 new chicks, and days later one of my Ameraucanas developed a prolapsed vent (which I managed to help her heal!). The chicks arrived and were doing well, but one now has a strange problem.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 12
(3) What breeds do you have? Ameraucanas, Australorps, Polish, Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? online searching? or maybe Mother Earth News?
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? gardening, cooking, mountain biking, trail running, skiing, river running
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. one husband, two kids (13 and 10), two cats, teacher
