I had an Araucana pullet sitting on 6 eggs. The night before they were due to hatch I decided in all my wisdom to move her, her eggs, and her nest into a safer area. I heard/ felt something drop but couldn't see anything by the light of my torch, but the next morning there was one of her eggs lying on the ground in the barn. I popped it back under Mum,and it hatched a day after it's siblings! What a clever mother, she got 6 chicks out of 6 eggs despite one spending the night unheated on the ground (it is summer over here) The chicks are Barred Rock/ Araucana crosses, and one is White Leghorn/ Araucana cross so am hoping they are all girls who will lay blue/green eggs for me
