If I remember correctly, bantam eggs usually hatch sooner than 21 days. I am writing up instructions for my partner in crime to hatch these eggs with her students and I think I want to still tell her to remove the eggs from the turner at Day 18. Right? or Day 17 for bantam eggs?

Nice find, Susan!

I'm curious as all get out, now!

Doing some research on incubating since I'll be getting hatching eggs in the spring and want to be well prepared ahead of time.

I am currently hatching bantams.

I hatched some last week and have some hatching now.
I stopped turning and raised humidity to 68% to 70% on
DAY 18.

Last week, 2 hatched on day 21 and the other hatched on day 22.

Today is day 20 for this week's hatch, and one has pipped this morning and hatched about 2:30 this afternoon.

I still have 3 more due tomorrow(day 21).

Hope this helps.

I think that incubation time must matter if a hen is setting. I could almost swear that when our silkie hen hatched out her eggs (which were standards), they were early. So maybe they only hatch early for setting hens and later for bators? :| This would be interesting to compare!
