Hi, I have a question, I have tried incubating chicken eggs for the first time, I started with 12 eggs, and on day 5 I candled them and threw away the ones without any clear signs of development, so now I have 8 out of 12 that seem to still be alive, my question is, every time I check them they cool down a bit, but only for a small amount of time, is this bad for them or will they be alright just for candling them?

If it is not too long, no it doesn't affect them. The hen leaves the eggs to eat and drink, so the chicks should be able to tolerate the amount of time you need to candle them. Taking them out in twos or threes is probably better that taking them out all at once though.

Hello..Twice I've had power outages. One for 16 hours and the last time for 5 hours. Definitely candling the eggs won't hurt them. All my eggs hatched just fine. Just when you Lockdown the incubator don't open it unless you absolutely need too.
