Incubating Coturnix Quail Eggs

Hi, I have just got 6 Coturnix quail - fully grown - 1 male, five females and have put them in my aviary. No other animals in it, and plants etc for safety and privacy. I would love to hatch some eggs in the foreseeable future, I am in South Africa so winter right now, and wonder at the easiest way to do this. I am not keen on buying an incubator as this is just a backyard aviary and I would probably only hatch once or twice - unless I get hooked!

So far what i read is that you will need the incubator because the quails don't sit on there eggs like chickens because of domesticated breeding. You may get one that will however it sounds as if it would be rare.

I have 24 that are just about to go into lockdown and due between this weekend and early next week. :D

very cute! I just hatched 9 out of 15 my very first time incubating! Did yours pop out like popcorn too? They're amazingly fast to hatch and then the wobbly stilt legs are hilarious to watch!
