We are trying out incubating for the first time and are on day 4 of incubation with a Farm Innovators Still Air Digital Incubator as our cheap incubator used for getting the hang of the do's and don'ts of incubating. Our biggest questions, however, revolve around what these baby pullet chicks may look like. Assuming we get at least one pullet of each crossbreed out of the 19 eggs in the incubator.
First and foremost, we have a very sexually active Amberlink roo. From my research, I understand his parent breeds well, however, I do not understand what may happen with his offspring. We have done the fertilization examinations on the eggs when we cook them and it seems like the vast majority of eggs are fertilized.
As it pertains to his hens, here is a list of their breeds (Pictures of the roo and all of the hens attached):
Ameracauna hen
Amberlink hen
ISA Brown hen
Rhode Island Red hen
I am certain that I have these four hen breeds crossed with our roo's Amberlink in the incubator right now. Any idea what the chicks are going to look like???
