Incubating Egg Question

Yes that would be on the 20th since I put them in on the 3rd in the evening after I let them set all day. Is that correct? I am going to post a picture of them as soon as they hatch. If they hatch. I also got some
6 Giant Blue Cochin eggs. I am not sure if they are bantams or a heavy breed. The eggs are huge. Bigger than my red star eggs. I decided to hatch them. Maybe if a couple hatch I will keep them.

Nothing likes being shipped! I have purchased eggs from egg bid as well as ebay several times- and have never gotten above 10-15% hatch rate with shipped eggs. Sometimes 0% hatch rate. With home grown eggs, we get 80-90%. I only get shipped eggs now if there is a breed or breeder that I must have, and can't get chicks directly. Shipped eggs are difficult- you can't control what they go through, even if the source is wonderful. (heat/cold/vibration/irradiation/box dropping ect).

if you put them in on the 3rd in the eveing their not due till the 24th of the month and stop turning and lay them down in the incubator on the 21st. you don't count the day you put them in unless you put them in, in the early morning. I have black copper marans eggs and some of mine own barnyard mix eggs in the incubator right now due the 22nd. I counted my first as day1 because i put them in at 6am.
