incubating eggs for the first time

No not shipped. We were out of town and eggs weren't collected, but the hens wouldn't sit on them so I brought them in. On day 10 and it's alive.

It's around day 16 and the one with the side air cell is still ok.

OK everyone hatched except for the one with the air cell on the side. Not ready to give up on it though.

I would like to know why it's bad to have an air cell on the side of the egg. That egg never did hatch but I still would like to know why/what happens.

I have actually started a thread about that, and got this answer from an experienced hatcher whose answers are always honest and logical, as I recall my side air cell egg did not hatch, but that hatch overall was abysmal.
