Incubating Guinea Eggs. Tips Please!!!

I'm currently incubating guinea eggs and was wondering where everyone sets there humidity and on what days? I'm currently on day 20 and have had humidity from 45-55%. I am planning on lockdown day 23. What should my humidity be for that time? I have read anywhere from 65-90% so I was wondering what's best?

I have hatched a lot of guinea eggs, Never tried 45 to 55% for the incubation, a lot lower. But I hatch at or around 75 to 80% with 95 to 100% hatch rate.

Could and probably makes a difference, but I never tried it there, so come back and tell us how your hatch turns out. If good?? Good!! If Not and you have alot of fully formed chicks dying in the egg---then I would say your incubation humidity is to high. I helped Lady in Canada above you and she went from 30 to 40% hatches(some times) to consistent 90 to 96% hatches the last time we talked----running the same humidity as I do in SC. Good Luck

Elevation does make a big difference. The elevation for Lake Michigan is listed as 577' so it does not fall into the high elevation problems that can occur.

I am at a mile high elevation so I do have to deal with some of the problems associated with hatching at altitude. Anyone below 3000' elevation should not have any problems using sea level settings for hatching.

So what should I lower the humidity to now? Or just leave since I'll be raising it in a few days?

We just hatched 20 guineas. We had the humidity at about 65% for the last 6 days. Seemed to work well.

Ok thanks! I'll aim for that then maybe a little higher but a minimum of 65%

Just wanted to update everyone! I have 38 guinea keets so far !!! They started pipping last night, I had 51 viable eggs after day 10. There's a handful still hatching but 5 eggs haven't done anything yet but we will see! I started my humdidty 45-55% but got it up to 65-70% for lockdown so it worked good for me thankfully!
