Ok - I have 2 Guinea eggs and I’d like to attempt incubating but I have a few questions.

1. When should I put them in? Immediately?
One was laid Thursday and one was laid today. I have them dated. Is the Thursday one too old to add?

2. If I have more eggs, which I will tomorrow, can I add them to these eggs? Date them?

3. What happens if one hatches before the others?

Any and all advice is appreciated, I can get pictures of my incubator too if it would help!

Thanks in advance!

I would save eggs for at least 7 days before putting them in the incubator so that you can put together the largest amount that you can collect all at the same time.

The recommended storage time is 7 to 10 days. I just put 63 guinea eggs in the incubator yesterday. The oldest eggs were 14 days old and the freshest eggs were laid yesterday.

It is much better to add eggs in batches rather than daily.

I stored the eggs in egg cartons in a cool, humid room. I elevated one end of the cartons by placing one end on a box and the other end on the counter. I made an effort to alternate which end of the cartons was elevated three times a day.

With guinea eggs, even if all the eggs are added the same day, it is likely that some will hatch before others. If the incubator settings are correct, guinea eggs can hatch anywhere from day 26 through day 28. I usually have some hatch on day 26, the majority on day 27 and a few stragglers on day 28.

I am usually pulling the dry ones late on day 27 and may end up taking the stragglers out early on day 29.
