the below post has already been answered, I'm now in the process of my duckies hatching and need help with them! go to my last post please!!

I need to know if my eggs are fertile!!

I have embden geese and a variety of ducks that have been laying a lot of eggs. None of my birds have shown any interest in nesting so I thought I would try to incubate 5 duck and 5 geese eggs for fun! It is day 13 of incubation and i've candled them again today. All of my duck eggs show obvious signs of growth and veining. I know i shouldnt wash the eggs so i didn't but the duck eggs were laid in a very clean area. My geese laid in mud and though i wiped them a little bit, they're still kinda hard to see through. I can't tell what is veins or what is speckles on the outside of the egg. When i looked at the incubating waterfowl guide my 13 days in ones looked like her 4 days in ones. I can for sure see the yolk to one side and red inside of it i just can't tell if its veining or not.

Should I leave them in or what?

My first thought is that someone on the Goose Forum may be able to help you. Many folks here also have geese, but I would still try the goose forum.

Thank you that was super helpful! It looks as if only one of my geese eggs for sure made it :( but I'm not positive about the rest because none of them are really yellow like the picture shows... if i leave them in there and they didn't make it is that bad?

okay i need help again!!! its day 24 and three of my 5 duck eggs have pipped!!!! i hadnt started lockdown yet or increased humidity or anything! I did now but they pretty far pipped and I'm worried that by not noticing sooner I may have caused them their life! I can hear one peeping for sure and I can see (through the viewing part) it cracking through the shell! what do i do here though? Will increasing humidity and slightly decreasing temperature hurt the chances of the ones that haven't pipped yet? They're still alive, i can see them moving in their shells when candled! Also how do i increase humidity enough to 70%?

I would definitely increase humidity and be patient ducks and geese hatch a bit slower than chicks
