Fans are not a must, but they help get more even heating. In you don't get a fan you will have to more the eggs to differnt places in the incubator every few days so they don't get deformed from growing to fast in the hot spots. You also need some sort of ventalation to let out the gases the eggs produce.

And ventilation comes from holes? And people plug them up at times to get different levels of humidity or something? I can figure something out for that...

Okay, so I've been reading. It discusses dry bulb and wet bulb. Does this mean whether I have a pan of water in there or not? Or is it something different?

Also, it gave temperatures for the humidity and my gauge is in percents, so I looked it up. Does this sound right?
Day 1 - Day 18 86-88 degrees which translates to 60-68% relative humidity
Day 19- Day 21 90-94 degrees which translates to 72-85% relative humidity

I'm totally confused. The second chart I found had dry and wet bulb temperatures different. Help!

2nd chart about wet bulb temps:

Here are pic's of an easy egg turner. All you need is pvc pip, an elbow and a paper egg carton with the bottoms cut out. You didn't say how many eggs you ordered but you don't have to make it that big. Just make sure the rows on each side of the pipe are equal.

Glue the egg carton to the pipe with hot glue.

This is a great turner! I have a baker's rack in the bottom and I plan to place an egg carton on top of it. I could do this pipe/carton thing. Thanks for sharing it!

I ordered 12 eggs.

The dry and wet bulb have to do with different kinds of hydrometers. To me that is too high humidity. Differnent people perfer different amounts of humidity though. I do 50%-60% during the last few days.
