Hen 100%. I tested this theory once with a batch of shipped eggs. I got 15 eggs in the mail from Florida. I placed 8 under my broody, those 8 all had damaged air cells, and 7 in my bator. The 7 in the bator were the less damaged eggs.
By day 7 I had lost almost all of my eggs, and Sunny's were still going strong. On hatch day, Sunny hatched 6 beautiful chicks. I hatched 1. Quite an interesting experiment.
Along with that, I transphered one of my eggs that seemed to have weak veins to Sunny's care on day 7. In a few days, the veins were strong and the egg looked great. :)
