Incubating quail eggs for the first time : )

I ordered 60 Pharoh hatching eggs from James Marie on Saturday. Talked to Robbie himself, what a great guy! Now the hard part, waiting 3 weeks to get them. I'm so excited! Time to finalize my plans for their coop and start building

I really want to try out some eggs from him. I've heard so many good things. Maybe after I'm done with these 3 batches of eggs I have going now! Lol I'm crazy

I have somewhat of a problem. Or problem bird that is...they are 2 weeks old now and one is being a major bully. It makes deeper chirping sounds and attacks its siblings if they come hear it when its eating, drinking, or scratching around... even going as far as chasing the others around the brooder...any ideas how to fix this? And why its being crazy?? Lol

Its not really doing damage to anybody...yet...lol. seems like it wants to be at the top of the pecking order. I'll keep a close eye and if it continues, by 6-7 its freezer time! I just had 2 tux eggs hatch, and 12 more due next weekend. I'm only keeping 5-6 birds for breeding and really want to keep as many a&m girls as possible..so hope if it ends up being a hen it calms down. : /

I'm freaking out. I decided to go ahead and put the 2 week olds in my big box brooder my husband and I built. The bully was really starting to chase constantly so I thought it would be good to give them more space. I still have a heat lamp on one end and its 88 directly under it. They're not really using it but I guess that means they're comfortable?? Its in the 40's outside, probably a few degrees warmer in the garage. If they have a good heat source they should be OK right? Just trying to reassure myself I guess.

Yeah they'll be fine. The only problem with having one chase the others is that they will be burning precious energy and not gaining as much weight as they could be. I had some spare plastic boxes I used for storing things in, I just put mine in there, but still next to the others.

I am new to quail incubating and new to this site. We live in Georgia and my quail are laying I brought inside nine eggs but it has been really cold. How can I tell if the eggs got too cold to hatch? Thank you.
