Your two thermometers.... Are they in the exact same spot in your incubator?

today is the first day of incubating my 35 golden coturnix quail eggs starting tonight. Any tips?

Calibrate a few thermometers and learn your bator before you set the eggs.

I have what appears to be the same AcuRite thermometer/hygrometer. I don't put it in incubators anymore. I have found this to be much more accurate, ThermoPro TP50 Digital Hygrometer Indoor Thermometer Humidity Monitor. I got one off of ebay for under $13.

This means you have warmer and cooler spots in your bator.

Can you put them next to each other and leave them for an hour then see if they are reading the same?

You need to watch your bator closely. You might be over heating some eggs.
