hey I'm new to this site and incubating and I'm just wondering its day 19 of contrix quail hatching and most of them rock around but still no pip and am just wondering if this is normal and still hope to hatch? and I have ran temps 99.5 and humidity 45 and 50 as I heard and closer to hatch 65 to 70 and am wondering if I did this right or anything I need to change while their moving I appreciate any helpful advice!

Your incubator temp maybe runs a degree or so lower than it says.

Do you have another thermometer you can put in there? I use Govee thermometer/hygrometers for checking incubators and monitoring brooders and only one of four of my incubators is correct.

If you can verify it now, you could adjust it, but otherwise I'd just let them hatch probably a day later than usual.

Welcome to BYC!!

I hope you have a great hatch!

Candle some and see if they are still alive/moving.

Example on how to candle:
A phone flash light in a dark room could work if you don't have a bright small flash light.

This is what an internal pip looks like:

They can go to day 20 or so if your incubator is a degree low. Also the pips are ridiculously small and hard to find (shine a light perpendicular to your line of sight and look for a tiny crack or line, that’s it).

That’s it! Just a little tiny crack or flaked off but if shell. It is hard to wait, even if it isn’t your first hatch! Definitely get the external thermometer and hygrometer for your next hatch, I went from a day 19/20 hatch to day 16/17 because of it! Incubators mean well but are chronic liars!

I just checked and I can only see the clear bottom and nothing moving but in 4 of them they look to be eternally pipped and in another two can actually see the bird and feathers and moving! and even though I can't tell in all or see anything they still physically rock so hopefully they'll catch up! if their eternally pipped how long should it take for them to start cracking and be out and the ones moving but not eternally pipped yet? I appreciate any advice and ty! and is around 100 temp and humidity the last few days 70% correct?

Usually once they internally pip they will externally pip within 24 hours then hatch about 24 hours later.

Have you candled any to see if they are still alive?
its to dark inside to see any but the egg is still moving... would you keep it in as long as they move? tomorrow will be two days late and no pip just movement
