Incubating question ?

hello all !! my papa gave me and my dh a lil giant incubater ( no fan ) and we want to incubate some OEGB eggs and quail eggs also ..but we were wondering about the humdity ( adding water and when to add more water ) there are lil groves for the water to be in...if someone can please help us out . Thanks alot ! * this is a old incubater ..my papa had it when I was 17yrs. and I am now 31yrs. old * and he can not remember that well .. God bless him ! thanks ya'll

Do you have a hygrometer? If not, a quick trip to wal-mart can get you a $7 one, and a glance through the threads can tell you how to calibrate your hygrometer- and then, just fill up the little grooves enough so that is stays about 40% the first 18 days and abouy 60% the last three

Yes you will need something to measure the humidity. You can also get a reptile one at a pet store for about the same price. Good luck with your hatch! JEN
