Incubating questions

I have to buy a new incubator this weekend to start my eggs the one I got is broke but I'm not going to candle on day 5 I'm gunna candle on day 7 or I would

I marked the air cells on day 1 just cuz I wanted to make sure they didn't grow to fast and I've been reading that on day 7 u candle the eggs and if the egg is clear I'm guessing no little veins then u toss them

Generally, if it's clear at day 7 it's not going to develop. I don't throw my clears out until day 10, but I have never had a clear at day 7 that wasn't still clear at day 10.

I have one question how long does it take for a bad egg to explode? When in the incubator
Eggs exploding are rare, and it's usually the early quitters that have bacteria in them that you see this with. A lot of times, though not always, an egg with that potential you can smell before it will explode. I have never heard of an egg that has made it to lockdown and quite after lockdown actually "exploding".

Amy thanks for Being so helpful I bet all my questions are pretty annoying but I do have one more I got my new incubator and it won't go to 101.5 I can get 102 and 101 just not the .5 part will that be okay cuz I'm running it at 102 ( it is still aired)

I'd just run it at 101. I'm sorry, which model did you have? If its the 9300, you might just have to live with 101 (but you should easily be able to get that .5 degree). If its the 9200, with the weird stick dial you turn to raise or lower the temp, it really helps to use a small screw to attach a milk cap to that dial. It makes minor adjustments SO much easier. Before the milk cap was added, I had a tendency to accidentally turn it too far one way or the other, which made fiddling with it for several days absolutely necessary. Now I set it and run it for a few days just to make sure it'll stay steady.
