Incubating Shipped Eggs

I let mine sit for 24 hours before putting them in the incubator. Not turning them for a few days once in the incubator depends on how the air cells look. If the look pretty stable and aren't detached and rolling around then I only let them sit for another 24 hours before I start turning them. If the air cells look bad and are detached from the egg then I let them sit for 72 hours before turning them. Make sense?

Yes, basically this is our second hatch and the last hatch all the eggs died, so trying really hard this round to get it right. Alveit, first hatch was 4 eggs we didnt intend on to begin with, but this next one we bought a much better incubator and are getting a much larger amount of eggs.

I am far from an expert (only my second hatch, 6 days in, all shipped eggs) but with this batch of call duck eggs I allowed the eggs to rest for 24 hours fat side up, then I added them to my prepped incubator and left the turner off for the first 3 days. As of today one shows no signs of development, one appears to be an early quitter and the rest are showing good veining. With my first batch a few years ago I let them rest for less than a day and started with the turner on. It could also be due a difference in shipping, the way they were packaged, handled or by my error in incubating them. Letting them rest a few days before turning, to me, seems to be a good idea

Hi everyone,

I am on day 14 of my shipped LF Brahma eggs. I let them sit for a day before incubating, then did not turn for an additional day. I am incubating with low humidity- btw 25 and 35 percent. I am using a KingsUro max 20 incubator and manually tilting back and forth 3 times a day. It is keeping a steady temp between 99-100. I have the eggs small side down, except for one that I noticed today was small side up. Ironically the one that was small side up is the only one where I can see a perfect air cell at the big end of the egg!!!!! I can not find an air cell in the others! A few of them are saddle shaped. I am thinking the air cells are on the small end. They are all alive and moving. I am so confused as to what to do. How are the chicks going to find the air cell?
My intuition is telling me to lay all of the eggs on their sides. More like they would be under a hen and then just turn them 180 degrees 3 times a day.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!
