Hi! So recently I ordered 12 eggs, but the seller put in 3 extra eggs! 15 eggs is a lot, and I don’t want all of them to hatch, but I do want a few. How many would you say will hatch? Considering the fact that some may be mistakenly infertile.
I am on day 10 of incubating the eggs and I see around 4 that are growing very noticeably.
Thank you!

So if today is day 10 and I only see 4 that look fertile, should I take the other ones out? Or should I wait until day 14?

I'd wait a bit longer. It should be safe by now, but for shipped eggs i would wait a couple extra days. When I incubated shipped eggs, I just left them all in. There was one infertile and a couple early quitters, none ever exploded. With my shipped hatch, I ordered 12 Bobwhite eggs, got 15. 13 hatched. I got 5 males and 7 females.

I would leave them all in for now. The seller probably included those extra eggs to make up for any that were damaged in shipping (both internally and externally). It's very very unlikely that all 15 will hatch, so no need to worry about too many babies. Best of luck to you!

Yeah, like everyone else said, I’d leave them in. I set 13 silkie and two bantam Cochin on March 21, four were duds, two were early quitters, and it’s day 21 and I only have two hatched so far. Better to have some you end up rehoming than just a couple.
