Hi all!

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I have searched for an answer but can't seem to find one. Here is my question. Last week on Saturday, my husband and I went to visit some friends who have a bunch of Coturnix Quail. I was just charmed by the little birds and their little eggs. The gentleman who owned them graciously gathered up a little basket of the eggs for me to bring home. I ended up with 30 little speckled eggs. My husband then ordered an incubator for me to try and hatch them. It was supposed to be here in two days... it was delayed but now will arrive on Friday. By then the eggs will be 6 days old. The eggs have remained in the basket in a room of about 75 degrees. Do I have any hope of hatching them? I would like to try but only if I have a 50/50 chance of success. So what do you think? Are they too old?

Thank you for your thoughts.

I also hold mine for a week before putting them into the incubator. My only concern is how they were stored. Best practice is in a cool place, fat end up, and rotated periodically. It may effect your hatch rate a bit.
