Incubating with a slow cooker...

Awesome thread. I was just thinking about this same thing tonight. I have a slow cooker you can set a temp for. Did this ever work?

You probably could, being that you can set the temp :celebrate I wanted to try this but my slow cooker has 3 settings, I couldn't find one that I could set the temp :(
I recall that post but not sure she ever incubated successfully. She ended up switching to an incubator, using the SC as a hatcher. You'll need to "test" your SC, setting it to see if it holds the temp & making sure you have ventilation. You'll need a hygrometer to watch your humidity. If you do your testing & experiment a hatch, keep records & let us know how it works.

What if you fill the base of the slow cooker with uncooked rice or sand in the base then set the eggs on top? Or buried in the sand? Add more uncooked rice or sand depending on the strength of your slow cooker to keep the eggs cooler or warmer
