On March 23 @ 8:00am i set 5 mixed breed duck eggs. 2 were cayuga-rouen crosses and the other 3 were barnyard mixes. I turn them three times a day @7am & 4pm and 9pm. I keep the temp at 99.5 and the humidity between 40-60% days 1-24. Then i will turn for the last time on day 25 and will lower the temp to 98.5 keeping the humidity the same. On day 26 i will lower the temp to 98 and raise the humidity to 70-80%. I am sooo excited! When the ducklings hatch i will move them to the brooder after they are dry. I will let them have room temp water and then add feed later. For a brooder i have a metal horse water tub. I covered it with pine pellets (not shavings) and them added a thick layer of normal straw. I dont know what i will cover it with yet (any suggestions?)
This is my first time hatching. Im using a Brinsea Mini Eco and love it so far.
Please let me know your thoughts on the incubating temps and humiditys, the brooder and whatever else you can give me advice on. Thank you in advance
