Hi there I'm getting different messages off different sites saying button quail aka chinese painted quail eggs don't need to be turned, some say 2-3 times a day, others say every two hours so, i thought id ask on here........ why do they have to be turned and if so how often do they have to be turned. please help.........

All eggs need to be turned. Turning allows for the embryo's to receive a good constant supply of food as they can consume all that is available quickly when the liquid inside the egg is not moved.

Professional hatcheries turn their eggs once an hour. Many incubators are programed to turn once an hour. A hen in the wild will turn her eggs at least once every 2 hours.

However, you can get away with 3 or 4 times a day if you are turning them by hand. But the more you turn, the better development inside the egg.
