As long as he pipped in the right end (where the air cell is) I'd give him some time to complete the external pip. sometimes it doesn't look like there's a puncture in the membrane when there is a small one or a little rip you can't see. If he's like that for a long time and you think he's in distress you can snatch him out and if you have tweezers make a little hole, but I wouldn't recommend that unless you feel there is good reason. At this point I'd say sit and watch and let it proceed naturally. (Unless it's malepositioned, that's totally different.)
LOL. Hatching is stressfull!!! lol Especially the first one! If he seems to get weak or have trouble I personally (cause I go against the norm...lol) would make sure the membrane has a hole, but it isn't a recommended process...lol. I think he'll be fine, but you are the one there judging his condition so you have to go with your gut. Just make sure you really sure before you attempt help.
Yes it is!! I'm just glad it only takes approximately 21 days to incubate. I don't think I could handle much more..lol
Awesome!! I would think it's humidity escaping from the egg, moistening the membrane. White/ clear is good. Tanish/brown-yellow, not so much. As long as the membrane isn't shrink wrapped against him, he should be good. Yes, very addicting!! What kind(s) are you hatching?
