Incubation nightmare.

I had one hatch that was like that. I put in the brooder and went to bed expecting to see that it didn't make it in the morning. I was afraid to look when I got up but it was running around like crazy the next morning. Hopefully, yours will do the same.
Well after I typed that little bit crashed and didn’t make it. I tried. Lessons learned. I do however have concerns about other little baby being alone? I’m a stay at home mom so I’m here all the time but not a duck. Should I consider getting another duckling from the feed store for company?

I’m sorry :(
I would see if you can find a few babies
They do so much better with company
Until then you can add a mirror and a stuffy to help
Even check local and see if anyone has new ducklings around

Yeah I was thinking the same. I was at the feed store the other day and they have their ducklings in. I’ll probably go get it a buddy. It’s already lonely.

I'm sorry your little one didn't make it, @ScooterMcPooters. It tried; you tried; we were all rooting for you, but quite a few don't make it. That is nature. :'(

I hope you can get your little one two little fluffies fromt he feed store to keep it company. It's always best to have three so that if anything happens to one you are not left with a lonely duck[ling]

I appreciate you guys trying to help out. I figured it’s chances were slim. Got the new babies and everyone seems very happy about it. Never had Pekins before so that should be fun.

I have a pekin
She was my first bird
Just love her to pieces
One thing about pekin they need more niacin then feed provides
I use nutritional yeast 1tbs to 1cup feed for 12 weeks
In warmer weather I sprinkle it on feed a few times a week not measuring
In winter I add it daily
You don’t have to after the 12 weeks but the extra just keeps them from future issues. Also grab some durvet vitamin B complex to have on hand just in case you do get leg issues
You can deal with it right away
