Incubation problems... help please!!

I have a Little Giant incubator. I recently added a fan to it (yesterday). It also has a turner. During the night, the temp is at 99 and during the day, it goes up to 102. I have the moister ring filled but I can't get the humidity level to go up to 40%. Right now it is at 32%.
Is this okay???

I would first question the accuracy of your hygrometer. I personally think 32% humidity would be ok, but some would disagree. I think it depends a little on what part of the country you're in, along with a number of other things. The temp swings though not ideal will probably be alright. It's pretty common with those machines.

My 1st time incubating eggs so Sure hope so because that is exactly what mine is doing but I do not have a fan in it.

I read that a still air should be around 101-102 and a forced air should be around 99.5

They were started on May 10th so Im going to let them go for 10 days and then check 1 or 2 if they are veining?? (((we hope)))I will not mess with them until day 18 when I get ready to move them over into the 2nd one I bought to use as a hatcher, that one I will have a fan in and as many sponges it takes to get the humidity up, will also prep that one on day 15 so I have 3 days to tweak up and get right.

I have my second one (used for hatcher) going all the time. I want to be sure my temp stays steady and not have to scramble to get it ready.

There have been several threads on here about dry hatching. I'm going to try it my next go around.

The problem with the temperature increasing during the day is do with the outside weather. I have my incubators set on 99.5 and sometimes during the day they go up to 101 but i try to watch my temps and then at night it stays at 99.5. To increase the humidity in the styrofoam incubator is 2 add sponge in it. I have used sponges like the one used to wash dishes like at Dollar Store or Wa-mart and let it soak up under running water and everytime the sponge looks dry, just pour water over the sponge just enough to get it damp. It should keep the humidity up, if it needs to be higher just get a bigger sponge, its no different then the sponges that is used in the cabinet incubators.
