I have been incubating Japanese Quail eggs for 10 days and Runner and khaki Campell ducks for 7 days now. So I left work yesterday at about 9:15 and everything was fine.
Got home at 5:30 and the light had blown. Temp was down to 22'c. I ran to get a new light, in my panic I got a 20watt which only got it to 33.2'c from about 10pm to 7:30am. I got a new light and temp is ok now.

Are they gonners or is there hope.
I use a forced air incubator I believe. Styrofoam box, light and manually turn them. Ive kept the temp more or less 37.7'c with drops when I turn which would heat up in 5min give or take.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! A drop in temp is not as critical as a temp that is too high. The drop in temp may delay the hatch slightly but should not have killed the embryos. As you have now got back up to temp I would give it a bit of time and then candle to see what is going on in the eggs.
Do you have a fan in your incubator? If not you have a still air incubator and the temp should be slightly higher and measured at the top of the eggs approx 101f at the top of the egg.

Wishing you the very best of luck and enjoy BYC :frow
