Incubation Questions

Hi, I am going to be putting my first batch for the year in the bator in about 2 weeks. Roosters are not my priority for this hatch, is there any way to mainly get hens? I'm guessing no but, I'll try anything at this point. Also, could i hatch supermarket eggs?

Supermarket eggs are not fertile, they will not hatch.

There is no way to select for sex when selecting hatching eggs that I know of anyway.

Maybe you could find a local farmer with some hatching eggs available, they might even buy the roosters back from you.

Trader Joe's and some other natural food stores sell fertile eggs.
There's nothing you can do to select for either sex in hatching eggs.

Check CL or the BYC buy/sell section for someone that has hatching eggs in your area. I've seen several threads where people have hatched out Trader Joe's eggs, but you'll get better results and better variety if you just pick some up locally for your first attempt.
