I've collected some eggs from our mixed flock and have them started in an incubator (on the 28th) - everything seems fine there, and yes, I've read and am diligently referring back to the Hatching Eggs 101 thread ;)

4 days ago my little unknown breed hen went broody and is sitting on 6 eggs; since she's gone broody, I can't find any eggs ANYWHERE that my other hens were laying. We were getting 2-3 eggs per day. What the heck? My husband, my children and I have scoured the livestock yard that they free range, and can find NOTHING. Not even evidence of stolen/eaten eggs. Did the others just stop laying???

This happened to me too when I let a broody sit in a nesting box. Seems she was threatening the other hens to stay away. I solved the problem by putting her into a brooder cage we built along one wall of the coop and the other girls went back to laying.

have you checked under your broody hen mine claim any eggs laid within beak scooping distance as hers, and under her they belong
