How can you not know if it needs to be repaired. It either works or it doesn't.

I am new to the hatching process, so let me know if this sounds like user fault or not.
The temp works it just changes at night when I sleep from 117 with 31 humidity and 87 temp with 67 humidity. If I keep an eye on it it varies slightly during the day but not as much at night. What does that mean?

Do you have it in a room where the temp flucuates a lot? For an incubator to keep steady temps well it needs to be where temps don't go up and down. Is this a used bator or a new one?

when I got it it was used only 3 times. Not really. Its the only room that is stable for the bator.

I have a new one of those Hovabators 16's . It is tempermental. The dang screwy thing is never consistent. If you unscrew the wing nut, it gets all messed up. Once I get it regulated, a whole day or two, it works great. I took out eggs/chicks and it sunk low. Add them, it spikes up crazy high. Argh. I hate it, BUT, with pateince you can figure it out. It has eggs and chicks this minute and is stable. I only use it as a hatcher, but regret not getting a Genesis. I say: if you can, sell it. If not, buy a Genesis anyway, the few bucks more is so worth it, and use it as a hatcher......until you can afford another Genesis. JMHO. HenZ who is hatching Frizzles right now with the tempermental bator.
