You can get more than that.... You can stack'em "high and tight" and hatch in another bator or hatcher. I had 8+ dozen in mine at one point. Staggered hatching can get out of hand if aint careful.... bator did'nt cool off for over 3 months. But Im feeling much better now....

And you were able to turn the incubator without any breaking? Also how did you keep the humidity up if they were all stacked up? I don't have another incubator but if and when I find enough eggs, could I just put the ones that pipped in the brooder with a heat lamp?

I was able to turn the bator by setting the eggs up right in shipping cartons. You can't just throw it over but rolling is no problem. I can get 60 eggs, in cartons, on the bottom layer. Then just stack the second layer on top. If doing this one must be careful. On the underside of the brinsea lid, there is a clear piece of plastic on either side of the fan that sticks down. This will crack eggs. Iv done it twice and it always makes me wanna stomp my foot and cuss!!

The humidity holds just fine...

I would'nt try using a brooder as a hatcher. I dont feel you could hold temp and I'm sure ya could'nt hold humidity at a critical time. But thats just my humble opinion...

Now JJ has other methods he uses to get even more eggs in the brinsea....This is how I do it, I dont hatch on the scale him and Randall do. Them boys are for ever build'n pens...

I use 105 QT totes, I have 5 of them, for the first couple weeks, then move them to the shop for more inside brooding on wire.... I like no more 20 or 25 in each tote.... Do a search for Randall's brooder. Its straight up ART!!! Bill

IF THATS WHAT YOU WANT TO THINK.... BUT THAT DOG DONT HUNT HERE. ANYONE WHO'S EVEN REMOTELY SERIOUS (EXCEPT ALEX, BUT HER VIEW IS A LITTLE SLANTED --- I WOULD'NT NECESSARILY COUNT THE GQF GENESIS AS A STANDARD RUN OF THE MILL COOLERBATOR) ABOUT GAMEBIRDS WILL LIKELY HAVE DIFFERING OPINIONS. AND BEFORE YOU TRY TO RUN ME DOWN FOR THIS KEEP IN MIND-- I HAVE AND ROUTINELY USE ALL COOLERBATOR MODELS AS WELL AS BRINSEAS AND MULTIPLE CABINETS. THIS AINT MY 1ST BAR BE QUE.

JUST REMEMBER YOU CAN LIE TO OTHER FOLKS BUT YOU SHOULD NEVER LIE TO YOURSELF...
