Incubator Choice! Which one?

For reasonable pricing and excellent reliability I'd go with a Hovabator.

1602 is the standard model, it's 2362 with the turbo fan. Then you can move up to a picture window model which I have because we've 4 kids vying for viewing space.

This is the 2362 model with turbo fan, if you don't want the fan then search for "Hovabator 1602".

This is the 1583 picture window with fan. For a non fan model search for "Hovabator 1582".

The reviews on the Farm Inovators (the first one you linked) incubator are mixed. It's basically a Little Giant and those reviews are more bad than good. Touchy temperature control and prone to temperature spikes. The Hovabators use a gas filled wafer that expands and contracts to the heat to shut off and turn on heat element. This is a simple and fool proof method. The temperature control is mild so user friendly- a full 360 degree turn on control will adjust the temp only 2F. Brinsea has great reviews but very pricey and not many only incubate 7 eggs at a time.

Mine is the RX older model not the fancy new roll x 2 or what ever its called. But yes, mine holds that many! I have 65 in there now (remember they aren't all mine!) and I have room to spare. This is a picture of what mine looks like. Has room for 89 eggs., more if I use the bantam rack that came with it but Im not doing bantams...http://www.lyonelectric.com/html/incubation_html/rx_rx1_incubators_parts.html My ultimate decision to buy was the availability of replacement parts if needed.

I got mine for less than half of what they cost, plus a ton of accessories. I lucked out! I added up everything I got and to buy it all new would have been close to 1000. I paid 1/3 of that. Keep an eye out! I have a Farm Innovators 4200 also which pales in comparison. I hatch in it now....

Well I have an older Roll-x too. But most of its age has come while in my possession, I've had it 40 years. Mine came with the solid state heat control, some had a backup wafer, but Mine didn't. I did change out the fan, not because it needed it but because I could. It now had a muffin fan like the newer models. I paid $35 dollars for mine

It has the bantam/pheasant grid which is just fine because that's what I've raised. I did hatch some LF & Mallard eggs, but did it in my Turn-X (which cost me $25)

I really like the Hovabator Genesis 1588. The only downfall is keeping humidity up during lock-down, but there are ways to set it up to make it easier.

WOW, there is a huge difference in the number of eggs they will hold.  How many are you planning on hatching at a time?  Ive never used either one of them, so I will leave that to someone else, but for you people that want a link to Lyon

BTW, I've used Lyon Incubators for 40 years & consider them one of the best small incubators you can buy, but they are not cheap

Have you ever used the profi I iam having trouble with it
